PERFORMANCE AND IMPROMPTU DANCE VIDEOS

This is a clip from an impromptu video a few weeks ago—feeling inspired by the similarities of volcanic eruptions and the ocean, I decided to respond to the crashing waves behind me. Opening up my ears to nature’s rhythm. Yet, the unavoidable entrapment of the current state is evident in the constricted surface area and the edge of a cliff behind me.

Bacchanal is an experimental dance film performed by Carolina Czechowska to the eponymous composition by John Cage. This is the third in Director Michael Winokur's series of dance films which follow this creative rule: One dancer, in his studio with only practical lighting. So far the series includes Power and Water, Light Dance and Bacchanal. Edited by Iana Simeonov at Union Movie Works.
